"WE NEED MORE LEADERS TO ASK NECESSARY FEMINIST QUESTIONS."
I'm Yasmin. I am a public speaker, board director and youth advocate. I'm passionate about ensuring that young people have a place in Australia's political conversations.
I am Plan International's National Ambassador and advocate for girls' rights to be recognised around the world. I have also been a commentator on Australian television programs such as Q+A, The Drum and The Project.
I am the Non-Executive Board Director of OzHarvest, Australia’s leading food rescue charity, and former Board Director of YWCA Australia, a national feminist organisation that has supported women and girls for 140 years.
I am a Rhodes Scholar and hold a Master of Women's, Gender and Sexuality Studies and Master of Public Policy (current) from the University of Oxford, researching intersectional public policy frameworks.
In 2021, I was awarded Youth Influencer of the Year by The Martin Luther King Jr Center. I have also been named as one of the Australian Financial Review's 100 Women of Influence and 40 Under 40 Asian Australians.
I seek to challenge policymakers to think differently. My vision is for Australia to become a global leader in intersectional policymaking, with a Parliament that truly reflects the diversity of our communities.
